Glasgow named in list of Best of the World 2016 Destinations

Glasgow-circle-2National Geographic Traveler has named Glasgow one of its must-see places in 2016. And our Dear Green Place is in good company with New York City, Greenland and Seychelles among those featuring in the list of 20 go-now destinations.

If you live in Glasgow, you’re sure to agree but what makes the city so attractive to tourists? National Geographic cites the Year of Innovation, Architecture and Design beginning in Glasgow in January, along with the first-time hosting of The Turner Prize as reasons to visit. The musical culture and famous venues, such as King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut and the famous buskers lining Sauchiehall and Buchannan Streets are further explanation for placement in the list.

Add to that, the growing list of restaurants and bars establishing themselves in areas like Finnieston and Shawlands, the sporting events that have been held in the city recently and the ‘style mile’ of shops…we could go on all day.

Here at Scotland’s home for homes we also have to mention the thousands of properties for sale and for rent in Glasgow. If you’re looking to buy or rent your next home, browse s1homes.com now to find one to suit you.
