HOUSEBUILDER Dickie is showcasing one of its latest designs at its Elder Grove development in Elderslie, Renfrewshire.
The five bedroom Jedburgh is part of the development which will comprise 47 homes, with a choice of four distinctive new detached four and five bedroom styles. The village of Elderslie is an increasingly popular residential area, within easy commuting distance of Glasgow and close to the amenities of neighbouring Paisley. Elder Grove is located on the outskirts of the village adjacent to Elderslie Golf Club and is close to local schools and the local leisure centre.
The Jedburgh showhome makes an instant impression with its L-shaped design. The entrance hallway features an oak wooden staircase, providing an elegant focal point on arrival, while oak finishings on skirtings and doors throughout the lower floor, from Dickie’s Distinctions range, add to the overall quality feel.
The interior colour scheme is based on soft greens, giving a feeling of calm. A contemporary edge is added by the use of bold prints on some soft furnishings and wall coverings, as well as the creative use of ceramic tiling in kitchen and bathrooms.
The lounge leads through French doors at the rear into a conservatory, an option from Dickie's Distinctions range, which provides extended living space and relaxing views over the rear garden.
A second set of French doors from the lounge opens into the formal dining room – or it could be used as a family/TV room, depending on the lifestyle of the residents.
The kitchen is the hub of activity in this house. An island unit is the central feature, with handy storage drawers and wine rack on one side and there is informal dining for six by French doors leading to the garden. Oak fitted units with black granite worktops are complemented by black and white splashback tiles and mosaic style effect flooring in black and white. The five ring stainless steel hob and hood have matching pan storage drawers below and there is a separate laundry room with direct access to the garden, while a cloakroom completes the downstairs layout.
Moving upstairs, the master bedroom is a generous L-shaped room with two sets of windows, one featuring a Parisian balcony, and a fully-fitted walk-in dressing room with sliding frosted glass doors. There is also an en-suite with full bathroom suite in classic white, and black and white tiling to the bath and separate shower cubicle.
A second bedroom with en-suite shower room has soft furnishings in a fleurs-de-lys motif, in chocolate brown and cream on a white background, making a striking statement, softened by white wooden furniture and matching fitted wardrobes.
A girl’s bedroom features a lilac and lime fabric in a large floral motif on a white background, with a striped wall in those colours behind the bedhead.
There is a further bedroom featuring pistachio green on bedspreads and curtains, with a bold flower pattern in cream. The fifth bedroom is fitted out as a study/computer room in restful creams.
A wide choice of extras from Dickie’s Distinctions‚ range allows homeowners to select from a variety of features individually designed for each house type, creating a home that reflects their own character and lifestyle. For example, specified extras allow buyers to open up walls and create double doors, meeting the trend for flexible, openplan living.
Dickie’s sales and marketing director, Tara Fitzpatrick, comments: “Our new range of house types at Elder Grove provides purchasers with a choice of flexible layouts, and our designs have been thoughtfully planned to meet the demands of modern family lifestyles.”
Prices at Elder Grove are from £285,000 for the four bedroom Crail design. For information, contact 01505 337 324 or visit the showhome, open daily, 11am to 5pm or go online for a virtual tour of the showhome at www.dickiehomes. com
