CloseAbout SMS text alerts
Our SMS service means you can receive details of the latest properties the minute they're placed on s1homes wherever you are.
You're in control. You decide exactly what type of properties you want to be alerted about and set limits on how many alerts you get each week. You can change your settings at any time.
Our SMS alerts cost 10p-12p each. This is the lowest available rate in the UK and only covers the cost of sending each message - we do not intend to make a profit from this service.
Each alert includes brief property details plus a link to our mobile site. Follow the link for a complete listing including contact details and photographs where appropriate.
We take your security seriously. Before sending you any billed messages we send you a free 'confirmation code'. This code must be entered on the site to prove you have access to the phone. That way nobody else will be able to sign you up for SMS alerts you didn't ask for.
If you have any questions about our service please contact servicedesk@s1homes.com
CloseAbout RSS feeds
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It's a really easy way to get instant alerts straight to your desktop, and doesn't require access to your email account.
Why is it a good idea for me?
We now provide access to your stored searches via RSS as well as the traditional email format. Whereas email alerts are sent at most once per day, RSS feeds are constantly updated throughout the day - you'll find out about new properties within minutes of them being advertised.
Fantastic! How do I get it?
If you're able to install software yourself and there's not an IT department stopping you, then it's really simple! Select a 'news reader' from our recommended software list and install one of them following their instructions. If you're using the Firefox browser, you've already got an RSS reader built in!

A charming Arts and Crafts house with outstanding views over the Forth Rail Bridge and towards the Pentlands
Dunfermline 6 miles, Edinburgh Airport 11 miles, Edinburgh 15 miles, Perth 31 miles
Built in approximately 1830, Hill House is a wonderful B Listed family house constructed from stone beneath a slate roof. An Arts and Crafts wing was added in the early 1900's, and being originally designed for an artist it has high levels of light from the numerous windows overlooking the Firth of Forth. As expected with a house of this era, there are period fire places, cornicing, sash &case windows with shutters (not working), and original wooden floors, doors and door frames.
The inner hall, staircase and landing on the first floor have decorative full height windows bringing added light into the property. There is a good mixture of reception and bedroom accommodation on both floors to maximise daily living whilst taking full advantage of the stunning views to the Forth Road and Rail Bridges.
Outbuildings
The former coach house has been restored to create a workshop with hatched access to a mezzanine level at first floor level. Subject to the appropriate planning permissions, this stone coach house could be transformed into an office or guest accommodation.
Further outbuildings include a store andcellarage beneath the dining room of the house. A disused well is set in a bricked arched opening to the side of the property.
Grounds
Hill House sits within approximately 0.25 acres of south-facing grounds which comprise a beautifully landscaped lower garden to the front and a lower maintenance garden flanking the private driveway from The Brae. The front garden consists of a good mixture of flowering plants, bushes and shrubs, herbaceous borders, terraced lawns and apple trees. There is a pathway leading down the garden with seats for enjoyment of the views, as well as giving pedestrian access onto Main Street.
Hill House is a situated in a prominent, elevated position above the Main Road in North Queensferry, with absolutely stunning views over the Firth of Forth and both the Road and Rail Bridges.
North Queensferry is a small conservation village which has a long history as a ferry port and, more recently, it has developed into a thriving community and tourist resort. The village has a shop, community centre, 2 public houses, a hotel and the popular tourist attraction, Deep Sea World. There are two restaurants in the village, The Ferrybridge and the Wee Restaurant, the latter of which is fast becoming known as one of Scotland's finest. A short ride over either of the bridges brings you to the picturesque village of South Queensferry with its popular collection of restaurants and bars. There is a wider range of amenities available locally in Inverkeithing, Rosyth and Dunfermline, or across the Forth Road Bridge at South Queensferry and Edinburgh.
There are an abundance of leisure opportunities within the area including a sailing club in the village and local moorings in the bay. For more extensive sailing facilities Port Edgar is on the opposite bank of the Forth at South Queensferry. There is a pathway network passing North Queensferry following the Fife coast which is ideal for beach walks. Fife boasts some of the best golf courses in Scotland, including the championship course at St Andrews, and the local courses at Dunfermline and Aberdour within easy reach.
North Queensferry is an ideal commuter base with quick access to the M90 motorway (1 mile) linking the cities of Edinburgh and Perth. North Queensferry railway station offers frequent trains to the north and south on the East Coast main line and Cross country. From Inverkeithing there are direct trains to London Kings Cross. Edinburgh airport is within 11 miles with a full range of domestic and international flights. The Ferrytoll "park and ride" is within a mile of the house with regular buses to central Edinburgh and throughout Scotland.
Several of Edinburgh's private schools, such as Stewart's Melville College and Cargilfield School, run a dedicated bus service to and from North Queensferry or Inverkeithing, whilst there are additional private schools in Fife, Clackmannanshire and Perthshire. For local schooling, North Queensferry has a well reputed primary school before moving onto high schools at Dunfermline, South Queensferry or Inverkeithing.
