Post Office Money’s research into the Scottish first time buyer (FTB) market provides interesting insight as to the thoughts and opinions of those struggling to secure their first home. Interestingly, 12 per cent of respondents reported the most frustrating aspect was a lack of clarity about the house buying process, while for 11 per cent, it was having to make compromises on the type of property they wanted. It also highlighted 63 per cent of recent Scottish FTBs had to compromise on location and move an average of 29 minutes further away from their original desired location; 82 per cent relied on the help of family to help them fund their deposit; and while 37 per cent described their experience as exciting, 21 per cent also said it was stressful.
