The Scottish Government has launched a new Challenge Fund of £90,000 to support a range of pilot projects intended to assist those looking to fund a self or custom build project. No cap has been set on the awards available, which will be judged on a case-by-case basis. “Good quality, inspirational housing can have an impact on almost every aspect of our lives, providing security and comfort and a place to raise our families – for self-build projects and this fund will give people greater choice in how they live,” commented housing minister, Kevin Stewart. The new Challenge Fund will be open for applications by the end of October.
