Showstopping showhome

New build homes are dominating my life at present, both in the news and in my roving role as one of the judges for the Herald’s annual property awards. The former included the official launch of two showhomes at Mactaggart & Mickel Homes’ Red Lion development in Newton Mearns, a challenging elevated site comprising 17 three, four and five bedroomed detached houses within an established neighbourhood, many of which have spectacular views right across the city. The showhomes are three-storey townhouse styles – a three/four bedroomed Jura priced from £409,995 and five bedroomed Cramond, from £789,995 – with impeccably designed and furnished interiors by Gerry Burke that display artwork by Glasgow artist Gerard Burns. The Cramond is currently the largest house in MacMic’s portfolio and it’s a showstopper, with a fitness room, games room, shower room and double integral garage at ground level; flowing living space – sunroom, kitchen and dining room with rear garden access – plus family room, utility and cloakroom on the first floor; and five bedrooms (two en-suite, master with additional dressing room) and main bathroom on the second floor. Do I have house envy? It would be impossible not to. MacMic has excelled here with homes that take space, style, specification and setting to a new level – go see for yourself.
