OF the estimated 47,000 listed buildings in Scotland at any one time, the majority are category B listed (of regional or more than local importance owing to a particular period, style or building type). Listed buildings chart Scotland’s history and highlight national, regional and local distinctiveness, as shown in the three homes here, says Beverley Brown.

NORTH Lodge is a former gate lodge close to the conservation village of Letham in Fife.
