CloseAbout SMS text alerts
Our SMS service means you can receive details of the latest properties the minute they're placed on s1homes wherever you are.
You're in control. You decide exactly what type of properties you want to be alerted about and set limits on how many alerts you get each week. You can change your settings at any time.
Our SMS alerts cost 10p-12p each. This is the lowest available rate in the UK and only covers the cost of sending each message - we do not intend to make a profit from this service.
Each alert includes brief property details plus a link to our mobile site. Follow the link for a complete listing including contact details and photographs where appropriate.
We take your security seriously. Before sending you any billed messages we send you a free 'confirmation code'. This code must be entered on the site to prove you have access to the phone. That way nobody else will be able to sign you up for SMS alerts you didn't ask for.
If you have any questions about our service please contact servicedesk@s1homes.com
CloseAbout RSS feeds
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It's a really easy way to get instant alerts straight to your desktop, and doesn't require access to your email account.
Why is it a good idea for me?
We now provide access to your stored searches via RSS as well as the traditional email format. Whereas email alerts are sent at most once per day, RSS feeds are constantly updated throughout the day - you'll find out about new properties within minutes of them being advertised.
Fantastic! How do I get it?
If you're able to install software yourself and there's not an IT department stopping you, then it's really simple! Select a 'news reader' from our recommended software list and install one of them following their instructions. If you're using the Firefox browser, you've already got an RSS reader built in!

A family house with wonderful views down the Tweed Valley.
Broughton 8 miles, Biggar 13 miles, Moffat 14½ miles, Peebles 18 miles, Edinburgh 38 miles
Reputedly dated from the 1850, the original building of Bellevede was the former Post Office for the village before it was transformed into a house in the 20th century and extended to the existing family home in 2006.
The reception rooms are open plan with a spacious dining kitchen and a well proportioned sitting room with large windows looking down the Tweeddale Valley. As well as LPG central heating, there is an efficient wood/coal burner stove which, as well as creating a feature in the room, provides hot water and central heating throughout the house. There is a bedroom on the ground floor which could be transformed into a further reception room if required but it currently provides useful accommodation for guests.
On the first floor there is a well proportioned master bedroom leading out to a large terrace, and 2 further double bedrooms with a shower room.
Annex:
On the ground floor of the new extension there is a utility room and outdoor room which could be converted into an office or additional guest accommodation subject to the appropriate planning permissions. This annex will be self contained with its own private access.
Bellevede sits in approximately 0.24 acres of ground and lies next to the former Toll Road. The main garden is situated to the back of the house with an assortment of fruit trees and bushes, herbaceous borders and shrubs, there is a spacious paved terrace outside the conservatory and an additional terrace at the foot of the garden. Being sheltered from the house, they are ideal for enjoying the views down the valley. To the front of the house is a productive vegetable garden and a gravel parking area. There is a double garage adjacent to the house.
Bellevede is situated in a peaceful position within the picturesque Tweed Valley in the small hamlet of Tweedsmuir. Broughton is a charming village in the Scottish Borders and it is best known as the one-time home of John Buchan, and the location of the small cask ale brewery, Broughton Brewery. The village has a primary school, post office, petrol station, village store, art gallery and village hall, along with sports facilities such as tennis courts and a bowling green.
For more comprehensive shopping requirements, Peebles lies 18 miles to the north-east. Peebles, a Royal Burgh since the 12th century is a lively market town cherished by locals and visitors alike, for its picturesque character and distinctive architecture. Popular with tourists and day visitors, Peebles represents a shopping experience in its own right and has been ranked as the top Independent Retailing Town in Scotland and second in the UK for its range of independent shops.
In terms of local education, Peebles has 3 primary schools and a High School, which is recognised as one of Scotland’s top ranked state schools. Peebles is also a festival town, with a number of annual celebrations taking place. This includes the famous Beltane Festival, the Rugby Sevens Tournament and Summer Jazz Festival.
The city of Edinburgh lies 38 miles to the north and provides all of the cultural and shopping facilities associated with a capital city. For those wishing to work or shop in Glasgow, the M74 and Lanark train station lie 20 miles and 15 miles away respectively (which provides easy access to the M6), providing easy access into this popular city.
Bellevede could hardly be better placed for those who enjoy outdoor activities. Tweeddale is known for its spectacular countryside with numerous opportunities for hill walking, mountain biking, riding and fishing in the tributaries of the River Tweed and the reservoirs of Talla and Fruid. Other country sports are available to let by local estates.
