CloseAbout SMS text alerts

Our SMS service means you can receive details of the latest properties the minute they're placed on s1homes wherever you are.

You're in control. You decide exactly what type of properties you want to be alerted about and set limits on how many alerts you get each week. You can change your settings at any time.

Our SMS alerts cost 10p-12p each. This is the lowest available rate in the UK and only covers the cost of sending each message - we do not intend to make a profit from this service.

Each alert includes brief property details plus a link to our mobile site. Follow the link for a complete listing including contact details and photographs where appropriate.

We take your security seriously. Before sending you any billed messages we send you a free 'confirmation code'. This code must be entered on the site to prove you have access to the phone. That way nobody else will be able to sign you up for SMS alerts you didn't ask for.

If you have any questions about our service please contact servicedesk@s1homes.com

CloseAbout RSS feeds

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It's a really easy way to get instant alerts straight to your desktop, and doesn't require access to your email account.

Why is it a good idea for me?
We now provide access to your stored searches via RSS as well as the traditional email format. Whereas email alerts are sent at most once per day, RSS feeds are constantly updated throughout the day - you'll find out about new properties within minutes of them being advertised.

Fantastic! How do I get it?
If you're able to install software yourself and there's not an IT department stopping you, then it's really simple! Select a 'news reader' from our recommended software list and install one of them following their instructions. If you're using the Firefox browser, you've already got an RSS reader built in!

Location

Hunters Quay is a desirable village of impressive hotels and properties set along the shorelines of the Firth of Clyde. It is two miles from the bustling town of Dunoon, which has a good variety of shops and restaurants, a theatre, cinema, swimming pool and leisure centre. The Holy Loch Marina is nearby and the area has three golf courses, sailing clubs, tennis clubs and indoor and outdoor bowling clubs. The local primary school and grammar school are nearby and highly regarded.

This property is only a minute or two from Western Ferries, with Caledonian McBrayne Ferry two miles away. Both companies have regular sailings to Gourock with direct transport links to Glasgow. Travelling by road from Glasgow via Loch Lomond takes a little longer but the scenery is breathtaking

Dunstaffnage is a stunning Victorian house with immense character. In recent years the property has been comprehensively improved and upgraded, successfully combining the irreplaceable original features of the house with every comfort of modern living.

Entrance to the property is from an impressive mosaic hallway with original cornice and rose features, opening into a second hall with a warmly carpeted wrought iron staircase and bright lead glass windows, winding all the way to the top floor. Double oak doors with distinctive Charles Rennie Mackintosh stained and lead glass windows open into the public rooms on the ground floor.

The impressive reception hall leads to a bright garden room with panoramic views of the Clyde estuary. The inner hall leads to a spacious sitting room, which has a feature white marble fireplace. Opposite the lounge is a magnificent formal dining room with a period black cast iron fireplace. The details on the cornice and ceiling rose in this room are a work of art and along with the lead glass on the windows add such character to this wonderful dining room which looks into the garden room.

Also on the ground floor is a luxurious family dining kitchen in cream colour with solid oak and black polished granite worktops. This modern kitchen has its own sound system.

The sitting room on the first floor has amazing panoramic views across the Holy Loch and Loch Long to Strone Point and Kilcreggan from five large windows. This is a most relaxing room, which has been tastefully decorated to retain the Victorian grandness of the room yet feel the warmth of a family home. The craftsmanship on the ceiling cornice and rose is absolutely spectacular and along with the feature fireplace and wall lighting create a special room.

There are three generous bedrooms on the first floor and a fourth on the ground floor.

Two modern bathrooms are situated between floors one of which has a Jacuzzi bath and high tech shower.

Luxurious top floor has everything you would expect in a house of this class. The master bedroom is enormous and has wonderful views over the River Clyde and its surrounding hills and lochs. A separate dressing room and fantastic deluxe” his and her” bathroom complete this private second floor.

This is a highly specified house, which has been imaginatively decorated with mood lighting and soft furnishings to have modern day luxury without losing the touches of Victorian grandeur.

Detached Cottage

This modern cottage is nicely situated within a lovely landscaped area at the rear of the main building. It would make ideal separate family accommodation, guest house, holiday or traditional let.

Accomodation consists of a sitting room, two large bedrooms (one with en-suite), modern kitchen and bathroom. Having been completed in 2008 the house is immaculate, fresh and ready to move into.

Garage

Attractive building at the side of the main house, which can house two cars, also has additional mains connected workshop and storage space.

Detailed plans (Argyll and Bute planning approval 09/01035/DET) for replacing the garage with an architect designed 3-bedroom reverse living villa are in place and available for viewing.

Another alternative is to transform the double garage in to a 2 bedroom cottage at an approximate cost of £25,000.

Gardens

Front garden is divided into two grassed areas in front of the house with a raised wall separating the garden from the house.

The rear garden has been professionally landscaped recently, creating a peaceful area between the main house and the cottage. There are several pleasant seating areas amongst the well laid out trees and shrubs. The rest of the garden is mainly grassed with new fencing all round.

A separate grassed area is enclosed and perfect for family playtime.

Parking

A broad driveway leads to the garage and has parking space for many cars.

All sizes are approximate.
