CloseAbout SMS text alerts

Our SMS service means you can receive details of the latest properties the minute they're placed on s1homes wherever you are.

You're in control. You decide exactly what type of properties you want to be alerted about and set limits on how many alerts you get each week. You can change your settings at any time.

Our SMS alerts cost 10p-12p each. This is the lowest available rate in the UK and only covers the cost of sending each message - we do not intend to make a profit from this service.

Each alert includes brief property details plus a link to our mobile site. Follow the link for a complete listing including contact details and photographs where appropriate.

We take your security seriously. Before sending you any billed messages we send you a free 'confirmation code'. This code must be entered on the site to prove you have access to the phone. That way nobody else will be able to sign you up for SMS alerts you didn't ask for.

If you have any questions about our service please contact servicedesk@s1homes.com

CloseAbout RSS feeds

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It's a really easy way to get instant alerts straight to your desktop, and doesn't require access to your email account.

Why is it a good idea for me?
We now provide access to your stored searches via RSS as well as the traditional email format. Whereas email alerts are sent at most once per day, RSS feeds are constantly updated throughout the day - you'll find out about new properties within minutes of them being advertised.

Fantastic! How do I get it?
If you're able to install software yourself and there's not an IT department stopping you, then it's really simple! Select a 'news reader' from our recommended software list and install one of them following their instructions. If you're using the Firefox browser, you've already got an RSS reader built in!

Slater Hogg & Howison are delighted to present to the market this unique and rarely available, four bedroom, 'C' listed , main door conversion, of a traditional Georgian manse house located just outside the conservation village of Glassford. The property offers a wide variety of ornate period features, larger styled apartments over three levels, private garden grounds with an impressive turning circle and stunning countryside views.

The internal accommodation comprises an entrance vestibule with storage cupboard to right hand side, used as a cloaks area. The vestibule provides access to a spacious entrance hallway which has a sweeping stone staircase, with carpet runner, leading to the first and second floor levels. A superb 21ft lounge with multi-fuel stove and south facing double glazed bay window, gives breathtaking panoramic views of the Avon valley. There is a large formal dining room, with double glazed window to the side, and, as a focal point, a feature fireplace with iron surround and timber mantel. Also located on the ground floor is a large wc with a two piece suite. The galley style kitchen provides excellent storage facilities with numerous wall and base units, together with a pantry. From the kitchen there is access to the private, enclosed rear herb garden.

On the first floor level, leading off a spacious landing area, there is a unique 15ft bathroom with opaque double glazed window to the side. The bathroom offers a five piece suite comprising wc, pedestal wash hand basin, bidet, free standing roll-top bath with shower head, and a separate shower cubicle. Also positioned on this floor are two bedrooms. The, double sized, Master Bedroom has a double glazed window with fantastic views overlooking the surrounding countryside. The second bedroom is of a single size, and, again, has a lovely outlook towards the countryside. On the second floor level there are two double sized bedrooms and a large storage/box room. Bedroom 3 has a roof-light and Bedroom 4 a dormer window. The property is heated by oil central heating, and a working fireplace and there is double glazing throughout, with the exception of Bedroom 3 on the second level, and the downstairs wc.

There is a private red chipped driveway, leading to an original period turning circle, around a circular lawn, featuring an ornamental pond illuminated by solar lighting. The garden has a large lawn, a decked barbecue area, a shed, a wood store, a coal bunker, and a drying green. In addition there is an arbour, which provides shaded seating and south facing views.

The subjects enjoy a peaceful and attractive, semi rural location within five minutes walk of the conservation village of Glassford, where there is a wonderful primary school, with an excellent reputation, and a modern private nursery. The village also boasts a fine restaurant and delightful shop. The attractive, conservation village of Strathaven is only 2.5 miles distant offering a wide range of retail, leisure and educational facilities with the completion of a new secondary school due in 2009. In addition the larger towns of Larkhall, Hamilton and East Kilbride lie only a few miles away, offering a more comprehensive range of amenities. For the commuter, there is easy access to the M74 motorway and Merryton railway station, just a few miles away, in the town of Larkhall. The property is 23 miles to Glasgow City Centre and 55 miles to Edinburgh.

This superb property is ideally suited to a wide sector of the buying market and as such early viewing is strongly advised in order to appreciate the high quality standard of finish and spacious layout of accommodation on offer together with the unique setting and breath-taking views of the surrounding countryside.
