CloseAbout SMS text alerts

Our SMS service means you can receive details of the latest properties the minute they're placed on s1homes wherever you are.

You're in control. You decide exactly what type of properties you want to be alerted about and set limits on how many alerts you get each week. You can change your settings at any time.

Our SMS alerts cost 10p-12p each. This is the lowest available rate in the UK and only covers the cost of sending each message - we do not intend to make a profit from this service.

Each alert includes brief property details plus a link to our mobile site. Follow the link for a complete listing including contact details and photographs where appropriate.

We take your security seriously. Before sending you any billed messages we send you a free 'confirmation code'. This code must be entered on the site to prove you have access to the phone. That way nobody else will be able to sign you up for SMS alerts you didn't ask for.

If you have any questions about our service please contact servicedesk@s1homes.com

CloseAbout RSS feeds

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It's a really easy way to get instant alerts straight to your desktop, and doesn't require access to your email account.

Why is it a good idea for me?
We now provide access to your stored searches via RSS as well as the traditional email format. Whereas email alerts are sent at most once per day, RSS feeds are constantly updated throughout the day - you'll find out about new properties within minutes of them being advertised.

Fantastic! How do I get it?
If you're able to install software yourself and there's not an IT department stopping you, then it's really simple! Select a 'news reader' from our recommended software list and install one of them following their instructions. If you're using the Firefox browser, you've already got an RSS reader built in!

A lovely family house with stunning views.

West Linton 6½ miles, Peebles 9 miles, Edinburgh city bypass 18 miles, Edinburgh city centre 23 miles.

Fox’s Well was built by the current owners in a traditional manner using blockwork beneath a principally slate roof. The house was designed as a family home as a result has well proportioned, bright rooms that take advantage of the superb views and attractive gardens. The property is fully double glazed. It is in good decorative order and is in walkin condition for the buyer.

A feature of the property is the large family kitchen which opens into a breakfasting/dining room and forms the heart of the home. The sitting room has a gas fire and opens into a large conservatory/sun room from which double doors provide direct access to a decked area leading to the garden.

The four principal bedrooms are all doubles and in addition, there is a nursery/office/ single bedroom. There is a large shower room on the ground floor and a family bathroom on the first floor.

In addition to the accommodation in the house, there is a large timber summer house at the end of the garden which has electricity to it.

Fox’s Well lies in a quiet location adjacent to the former Kirkurd Church. The property has a wonderful, peaceful situation yet is just 9 miles from Peebles and 23 miles from Edinburgh city centre.

West Linton provides a wide range of local services with a selection of banks, shops, a post office, garage and small supermarket. There are two local primary schools at Romanno Bridge and Broughton with secondary schooling at the well respected Peebles High School. Peebles offers a wide range of services including supermarkets, a number of high street shops, a swimming pool and leisure facilities. Edinburgh has all the shops, services and attractions expected of Scotland’s capital city and Straiton Retail Park (18 miles) has several major stores including Marks & Spencer and Ikea.

There is a regular park and ride bus service from Straiton to Edinburgh city centre. Despite its proximity to a wide variety of services, Fox’s Well has a very pretty, rural location and is well placed for those who enjoy outdoor activities. The Pentland Hills Regional Park has over 100km of hill walks and wildlife trails and there are a variety of horse trekking tracks.

There are several golf courses in the area at West Linton, Rutherford Castle, Peebles and Biggar in addition to the many courses on the outskirts of Edinburgh. Glentress near Innerleithen is an award winning mountain biking centre and attracts many visitors. There is game shooting widely available in the area and several trout fisheries. The Scottish ski centre at Hillend offers sport throughout the year.

To the front of the house is a gravel parking area enclosed by stone walls which leads to a tarmacadam area to the side of the house. To the rear of the house is a beautiful enclosed garden which has a large patio area and a path leading through an arch to a lawn flanked by flower beds and herbaceous borders. A feature of the garden is the large summer house which is a wonderful place to enjoy the peace and seclusion of Fox’s Well.

Adjacent to the summer house is a large timber storage shed.
