The firm was established in the mid 19th century and has provided legal services to the towns of Blairgowrie, Coupar Angus and Alyth and the rural hinterland over many generations.

The present partner, John M. Hart, after studying and practising law in Edinburgh, has been with the firm since 1975. John now specialises in providing Estate Agency and Conveyancing for a wide clientele. He acts also for one of the largest residential property developers in Tayside.

John is ably assisted by his sons, David M. Hart who joined the firm in July 2011 and Richard G Hart who joined the firm in 2014.

When making the choice of which solicitors to appoint, the acid test is past performance. Most of our new business is based on personal recommendation by existing clients.

 

Since 1999 the firm has operated from its location in the High Street at the former office of the town's photographer; hence the address  'The Studio' . Since then the estate agency practice has expanded by leaps and bounds. with all our clients estate agency needs being adequately dealth with by Pauline J Whyte, Property Manageress who is assisted by John's wife Margaret.  Both treating the firm's clients with kindness and efficiency and, perhaps just as importancly, prospective purchasers, in the same way. 

The secretarial and accountancy staff have a wealth of experience which assists the firm in meeting clients' proper expectations.

We pride ourselves on our accessibility. If a client calls by phone and the solicitor instructed is not available, our target is to call back as soon as possible the same day. When instructing legal work, clients are able to rely on their business being handled throughout by a fully qualified and experienced practitioner and are not at risk of the matter being handed on to a less qualified and less experienced person.
