Removal
If you have lots of furniture to move you should call in some professionals to help with the move. Contact a few removal firms and ask for quotes (it helps if you know roughly how many boxes or how much furniture you need to move, the exact time you want to move and directions) they'll send someone round to see exactly what the job requires and give an estimate of the length of time it will take. Make sure you tell them about any items that are particularly valuable or that may not easily fit through the door etc. Plus, check their insurance cover is sufficient for your possessions.
You'll also need to consider access to both your existing and new property, remember removal vans can be large so you may have to organise a space in advance for them. On the day, it's a good idea to give the removers a plan of where the furniture has to go in your new place; it'll save you moving it all around again later.
If you don't have a lot of furniture and think you can manage to move everything yourself, you should try to enlist the help of friends and relatives and consider hiring a van to save making too many trips.
