Paisley is around 7 miles to the west of Glasgow and is the biggest town in Renfrewshire.
The main residential area begins in the town centre where you will find many examples of traditional Scottish tenement flats with rows of shops below. Moving further out into the suburbs you will find many different styles of flats in Paisley.
Historically, weaving, textiles and shipbuilding were the main industries in the town, however very little remains. The public sector is now a significant employer in the area with education, healthcare and policing headquarters located in the town providing public sector jobs.
Paisley is well served by public transport with 4 train stations and a bus network run by Strathclyde Passenger Transport (SPT). The M8 motorway also runs along the top of the town and links Paisley to Glasgow and Greenock. Scotland's largest airport, Glasgow airport is located on the edge of Paisley and serves many UK and international destinations.
