If you need to travel to Perth, that'll take you about 40 minutes and it takes between 35-45 minutes to get to Dundee. St Andrews is also around 45 minutes away by train.
All in all, it's a well-connected place to live. Be wary that the bridge can get busy, though, if you're travelling by car.
Aside from being convenient, Kirkcaldy is a great place to spend your time outside of work. Indeed, many people in more rural parts of the Fife area come here for entertainment and socialising.

Another popular park, Beveridge Park, just south of the town centre, houses boast improved transport links - you're the right side to head off on the roads, and much nearer the station. Raith Drive is popular, with many post-war properties, bungalows and spacious gardens.
On nearby Abbotshall Road, you'll find more Victorian houses built with recognisable grey stone - so there's something for everyone's preferred style.
The Wemyssfield area is great for amenities and transport connections, near the leisure centre, bus station, theatre, college and more. Bute Wynd offers a similar lifestyle, but is a bit further away from the town centre.
One of the busier roads taking you away from the cost is Boglily Road. Before you reach Raith Lake, take a left after the park and you'll find the fantastic Southerton Crescent and Southerton Gardens, with some desirable properties.
