A Beautiful Home in the heart of the Highlands
Lodges at Glengarry are two-bedroom one-bathroom Scandinavian A frame buildings available to purchase from as little as £60k The lodges were built in Denmark before being shipped to The Montrose basin in the 1980s. The structures were then transport by road to Invergarry and built by Morrison Construction on the hill overlooking Loch Lochy. The A frame lodges type of construction are perfect for the Scottish weather and offer Cosy and affordable living all year round.
Lodges at Invergarry are larger two-bedroom two-bathroom Scandinavian A frame lodges overlooking Loch Oich, and are available from as little as £80k. A fully renovated option on a prime Lochside location with stunning views of the surrounding mountains is also available starting from £180k. These fully renovated lodges include private garden large decking and pontoon (size to be confirmed at time of purchase) There is also an option do design your own interior and choose your own fixtures and fittings. Work has already started on numbers 23 and 24.
A home report is available on all lodges before purchase. Home report values vary depending on the date the lodge was previously upgraded however a saving usually of around £10k behind the home report value is the norm. Lodges are fully habitable and functional as they stand, upgrading your purchase to a higher and more modern standard is a matter of choice. Lodges can be for residential, holiday or holiday letting use. The A frame lodges are genuine properties on foundations, unlike the new style of lodges that are basically wood clad caravans on wheels. Our lodges increase in value like any other normal property. The land on which the lodge stands is leased on a sixty-year lease agreement. Site fees vary and start at £2500 this covers water, waste, and ground maintenance.
Our lodges are in a very unique location on the banks of Loch Oich and Loch Lochy. Both lochs are part of the Caledonian Canal system that connects the Scottish East Coast to the West Coast and was built by Thomas Telford in the early nineteenth century. Loch Oich is the highest point of the canal system; the height of the water rarely changes throughout the year. There is a café and bar on our main park open seven days a week and an excellent choice of outdoor activities. If you decide to let your lodge we manage all bookings changeover marketing, cleaning and laundry.
The Fort William and Lochaber area is the busiest tourist area in Scotland. The Isle of Skye, Loch Ness, Fort Augusta’s, Ben Nevis, Fort William, Glenfinnan, Glencoe are all within easy traveling distance.
Fort William is the nearest town and offers a good choice of retail shops and dinning including Morrisons, M&S, Costa Coffee, Argos, McDonalds, Lidl and many more. Fort William is a short twenty minute drive away. Two of the best restaurants in the area are Rokeby Manor and the Letterfinlay hotel and open all year.
Invergarry lodges are a very rare opportunity to purchase a home in the Scottish Highlands. There are unlimited opportunities and benefits to owning a lodge at either location.
