Attraction of tradition

Victorian Houses in Perth Scotland

Demand for traditional properties over £500,000 has boosted Perthshire’s property market, according to property consultancy CKD Galbraith which reports a 10 per cent increase in sales – and a 19 per cent increase in viewings – during the first quarter of 2017.

Areas singled out by the firm as seeing particularly high demand include Aberfeldy, Pitlochry and Loch Tay as well as south Perthshire, while rural properties with land – anything form a few acres up to 40 acres – continue to draw interest, notably so in relation to English buyers who are attracted to the rural lifestyle and value for money property in Perthshire.

Emma Chalmers, who heads up the CKD Galbraith’s Perth office, adds: “The area is an attractive prospect for the second home market, which has also helped to boost the rise in sales”.
